Citizens Bank, Sloan-Hendrix Schools honor Candice Matthews for 'Excellence in Citizenship'

Candice Matthews, Paraprofessional at Sloan-Hendrix High School, was named to receive the September “Citizens Bank Excellence in Citizenship” award. 

With this new program, Citizens Bank and Sloan-Hendrix School District aim to recognize students and staff members who are committed to living out the district’s mission to preserve yesterday, excel today and prepare for tomorrow. Staff nominate the award recipients who receive a Certificate of Excellence, an Excellence in Citizenship mug, a Greyhound Paw Print ink pen and keychain and a $25 Walmart gift card from Citizens Bank. Sloan-Hendrix Superintendent Clifford Rorex and Citizens Bank Assistant Branch Manager Kimberly Moore presented the award.

“Mrs. Candice has demonstrated how to be a positive role model to students and staff,” said Clifford Rorex, Superintendent of Sloan-Hendrix School District. “Candice goes out of her way to help whenever and wherever she is needed without compliant. She continues to make a difference around campus daily and is a great asset to the greyhound family.”

Candice, her husband Eugene, and children Kyler, Kolton, Braylee, Karson, and niece Harley reside in Ravenden.
