Citizens Bank, Batesville Schools honor Ebony Brown for going 'Above & Beyond'
Ebony Brown, Special Education Paraprofessional at Batesville High School Charter, was named Monday to receive the September “Citizens Bank Above & Beyond Award.”
Since 2012, Citizens Bank and the Batesville School District have recognized staff members who go “above and beyond” to realize the district’s mission to empower today's students for tomorrow's challenges. Staff in all schools and departments throughout the district nominate award recipients, who receive a Certificate of Excellence, a $25 gift card and a 16-ounce insulated cup from Citizens Bank. The award is presented at the Batesville School Board meeting each month.
Heading multiple programs that empower students with special needs, Ebony’s colleagues notice her drive and love for those she leads. They said:
“Ebony approaches every day with enthusiasm and a smile. She truly cares about the students that she works with every day. As the Director of the Area Special Olympic games, she works hard to make sure that everything is well-organized and an enjoyable experience for the athletes that compete. She brought the Partners Club to the high school which has provided opportunities for students to work with the Special Needs students to create an environment of acceptance and service.”
“Ebony goes above and beyond with anything that comes her way. She is always there for her students, and they love her as much as she loves them. No one deserves this award like she does.”
“There aren’t enough words to describe this very special lady. Ms. Ebony goes above and beyond daily and is always putting her students first. The tireless hours she puts in her class, her student Partners Club, and for the Special Olympics is unbelievable. The love and the passion she has for what she does is clearly evident.”
