Citizens Bank Enhances IT and Cybersecurity Team with Mead and Gould

Citizens Bank, headquartered in Batesville, Arkansas, has enhanced its technology team with the promotion of Jeff Mead to SVP cybersecurity specialist and ISO, and the addition of Joe Gould as SVP of information technology (IT). The emphasis on technology and security demonstrated by these roles support Citizens Bank’s commitment to safe IT innovation.
Mead, previously the SVP of information technology at Citizens Bank, will take on new responsibility in this role as he leads cybersecurity efforts for the bank.
“Jeff is a critical part of our technology culture and has been leading efforts in technology innovation for decades. He exemplifies our Beyond Banking mission by serving our team and customers with excellence. His promotion is well-deserved,” said Pam Jones, EVP and chief operations officer at Citizens Bank.
Mead has been a dedicated teammate at Citizens Bank for more than three decades and has taken the lead in the company’s information technology efforts. His transition to this high-level role will allow him to continue his influence while implementing cutting-edge strategies.
“Citizens Bank has been my home throughout my career,” said Mead. “Our team serves with excellence and care to truly serve our communities each day. I look forward to leading this exceptional team as we continue to innovate and meet the needs of our customers.”
Mead graduated from the University of Arkansas, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in banking and finance.
“We are fortunate to have Joe’s experience and background at Citizens Bank,” said Jones. “His leadership and accomplishments in his previously held roles will serve him well as he integrates into our team of progressive bankers.”
Gould previously served Smiley Technologies as a director of information technology services. He has managed nearly a dozen community banking networks ranging from $55 million to $2 billion in assets. Based at the Little Rock branch, he will be responsible for all IT functions of the bank and leading its IT team.
“I am excited to bring my perspective to the Citizens Bank team. Having managed several community banking institutions, I feel I am well-equipped to lead our People Firstteam,” said Gould. “From the server room to the board room, our goal is to provide the highest level of excellence and customer service possible.”
Gould earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Southern Arkansas University and is a Certified Ethical Hacker. He lives in Little Rock with his wife Amee and two sons, Marshall and Oliver.
