What is your official job title? Sr. Loan Assistant
Summarize what you do in your role. From gathering and verifying financial documentation to communicating with clients, I facilitate the smooth and efficient functioning of the loan origination process, while continuing to assist my loan officers in managing their portfolios.
How/Why did you get into the banking industry? Looking for a job at 18, I was offered a teller position in 2005. I worked in retail as a teller and Assistant Branch Manager for 10+ years before transferring to the lending side as a loan assistant in 2016.
What is a DRIVER within your role? Ultimately, helping others is a primary driver for happiness in my role. I love seeing my customers succeed and grow in their individual industries.
What skill(s) do you use on the job that might surprise people? My ability to turn a negative into a positive when dealing with upset customers.
What do people assume about your role that isn't true? That a loan assistant role is comparable to a telephone operator.
What would you say to someone who doesn't think a banking career is for them? Go for it! I never thought banking was for me either; however, I applied and got more than a job, I found a career. I have learned so much along the way and have loved being able to help others and grow relationships with my customers and fellow employees.
What does Beyond A Banker mean to you? Being "Beyond a Banker" means going the extra mile to help my customers beyond traditional banking services by offering personalized customer assistance, problem solving, and building strong, lasting relationships founded on trust and support.

When/Where are you the happiest? Doing anything outdoors with my family.
Where is your favorite (local) place to eat? What is your go-to order? Las Playitas - Fajita Taco Salad
What special/interesting skill do you have that many might not know about? I love to hunt. I am a 3rd generation female hunter, and my daughter makes the 4th. Some of my favorites include bow hunting and turkey hunting.
