How/Why did you get into the banking industry?
A current Citizens Bank Commercial Loan Officer that I had known for many years reached out to me to check in and see how life was going. We started talking banking and realized that there may be some unique opportunities in banking that I had never thought about before as a career path. I was fortunate enough to join the Hot Springs team and the rest is history. I have always enjoyed building customer relationships, so banking is a natural fit.
What do people assume about your role that isn't true?
Alot of people see bankers as just number crunchers. Yes, running numbers and analyzing numbers is critical, but being available and relatable to your customers is vital to developing strong customer relationships.
What does Beyond A Banker mean to you?
I see the meaning of Beyond a Banker really no different than what I hope others see in my personal life. Being a trustworthy high character employee, a family man, a good friend, hard-working, enjoyable person to be around. Showing that you truly care about your customers and coworkers demonstrates what I believe Beyond a Banker really means.
What are you passionate about outside of work?
I am passionate about my faith and my family. I love interacting with both my son and daughters' activities, coaching them and being the best supporter I can be. My greatest joy in life is getting to be a husband and a dad. Call me crazy, but I have a passion for rules and regulations in sports and I love sports officiating.
When/Where are you happiest?
I love being around my family and attending sporting events. Coaching my kid's baseball, basketball and football teams is awesome. I haven't quite mastered the coaching of my daughters' dance and gymnastics activities LOL, but I love watching them both do the things they enjoy.
What show(s) are you currently binge-watching?
I am currently hooked on the show called "Suits". I have always watched "Big Brother", "Survivor" and MTV's "The Challenge"

What special/interesting skill do you have that others might not know about?
I used to play Baggo competitively. I am a Men's College Basketball Referee.
What is something that you wish you had known earlier in your career?
You shouldn't let the nervousness of failure keep you from exploring new opportunities. Also, do not let being comfortable in a certain role hold you back from trying to advance in your career.
