BATESVILLE – November 13, 2013 – Formal dedication ceremonies, including a ribbon cutting and a cookout, are scheduled to be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, November 15, for the new “Citizens Bank Quad” on the campus of Southside High School.

Citizens Bank is being honored with the name of the new facility by the Southside School District for providing the $15,000 in funds that have furnished the Quad, which is the centerpiece of a multi-phase improvement program at the high school.

The Quad is a commons area that is connected to a building that houses eight classrooms, however, future development plans call for the Quad to one day be connected to a new auditorium and to a new gymnasium.

“The Citizens Bank Quad is a beautiful and inviting area where our students and faculty like to congregate before and after classes,” said Roger Ried, Southside High School Principal.  “It also is a more relaxed, less formal area where some of our teachers and students have met to conduct classes or work on school projects.”

“We are grateful for the continued generosity of Citizens Bank,” said Southside Superintendant Roger Rich.  “The furnishing of the Quad is the latest example of Citizens Bank’s consistent support of our district, as well as our academics and athletics.”

“Southside is an important school district to Citizens Bank,” said Penny Thornton, Citizens Bank Executive Assistant.  “We are much more than just a bank.  We are people who care about our education system, our teachers and our children.  This is our home, too.”
