Citizens Bank to Ignite ‘Celebrate America’ on Fourth of July
BATESVILLE – June 27, 2013 – Plans are being finalized for the 2013 edition of “Celebrate America,” the Fourth of July Celebration at Riverside Park to be hosted next Thursday for the 16th consecutive year by Citizens Bank.
“The fireworks will be more spectacular than any we have seen in previous years,” said John Dews, Citizens Bank President and Chief Executive Officer. “Without giving away too much, we are planning a multi-colored fireworks ‘waterfall in the sky.’ We look forward to everyone joining us by the White River for a full day of fun and entertainment.”
The evening’s festivities will begin at 5 p.m. with a live remote broadcast at Riverside Park by W.R.D. Entertainment. Returning for a second year as Master of Ceremonies will be Mooney Starr, owner of the Batesville Motor Speedway.
At 7:00 p.m., Treasure Island Gymnastics & Tae Kwon Do will perform a demonstration on the main stage. A “Patriotic Salute” follows at 7:30 p.m., with the presentation of the flags by a Color Guard from Bravo Company 2-153 Infantry in Batesville. The National Anthem will be sung by “The Anointed Ones,” a national gospel-singing group from Cave City with an effortless harmony and exciting presentation.
At 7:45 p.m., a concert will begin, featuring the popular band “Everyday Life,” an exciting and versatile group of musicians from Northeast Arkansas. Everyday Life plays a unique blend of all music styles. During an intermission, dancers from the Dance Academy of the North Arkansas Dance Theatre (NADT) in Batesville will perform a routine to the John Philip Sousa march, “The Stars and Stripes Forever,” according to Cindy Hubberd, NADT director.
The evening will conclude with the fireworks extravaganza at 9:15 p.m.
The Independence Day celebration also includes food and craft vendors, bounce houses and other children’s activities, such as face-painting and balloon animals.
“Citizens Bank is so appreciative of our co-sponsors for this event, especially W.R.D. Entertainment, which is again serving as the ‘Sonic Boom’ Level sponsor, and The Batesville Daily Guard as the ‘Big Blast’ Level sponsor,” Dews said.
“Sparkler” Level sponsors include Arkansas Blue Cross Blue Shield, Bud Shreve and Al Crouch of Batesville; Batesville Cold Storage; City of Batesville; Dowell Trucking; Flowers Baking Co.; FutureFuel Chemical Co.; Lyon College; University of Arkansas Community College at Batesville; and White River Medical Center. “Firecracker” Level sponsors are Ramada Inn; Holiday Inn Express; and Amy Beth Anderson, Vernon Inc.
