BATESVILLE – October 21, 2013 – Tammy Gillmore, English and Journalism teacher at Batesville High School, was named today as the October recipient of the “Citizens Bank Above & Beyond Award.”
Citizens Bank and the Batesville School District created the award to recognize school staff members who go “above and beyond” in their service to the district. Personnel throughout all schools nominate recipients of the monthly Above & Beyond award, which includes a certificate from the Board of Education and a $50 gift card from Citizens Bank.
Recommendations for Ms. Gillmore consistently mentioned her willingness to volunteer with students, plus her desire to motivate and support co-workers.
Sample comments included:

- “Not only does Tammy give 100% to her students all day, every day, she is the driving force that keeps colleagues motivated.”
- “Ms. Gillmore really lives the motto ‘Kid’s First!’ She is willing to sponsor any event or organization that helps our students. Ms. Gillmore is a leader on our campus and deeply cares about her co-workers.”
