BATESVILLE – December 17, 2012 – Batesville Junior High School teachers Katie Milum (art) and her mother, Mae Milum (health and physical education), were named today as recipients of the Citizens Bank Above & Beyond Award for December. Citizens Bank and the Batesville School District sponsor the award each month to recognize school staff members who go “above and beyond” in their service to the district.
Personnel throughout all schools nominate prospective recipients of the monthly award, which includes a certificate from the Board of Education and a $50 gift card from Citizens Bank.
“Katie and Mae have gone ‘above and beyond’ by sponsoring a school dance, raising funds by making Christmas ornaments by themselves to sell for Art Club and organizing a clothes closet for needy kids in the district,” according to one nomination of the Milums.
Janelle Shell, Citizens Bank Business Development Officer, presented the awards to the Milums.
