BATESVILLE – May 20, 2013 – Cynthia Mott, a Special Education Paraprofessional at Batesville High School, was named today as the May recipient of the “Citizens Bank Above & Beyond Award.”  Citizens Bank and the Batesville School District created the award to recognize school staff members who go “above and beyond” in their service to the district.

Personnel throughout all schools nominate recipients of the monthly Above and Beyond award, which includes a certificate from the Board of Education and a $50 gift card from Citizens Bank.

Recommendations for Mrs. Mott consistently mentioned her dedication to the needs and progress of the Special Education students.  Sample comments included:

  • “Cynthia Mott gives and keeps on giving.  She goes beyond what is asked, to give her time, money, and heart to those she comes in contact.”
  • “Discipline and moral growth are not her job but, by example and discussion, she encourages the students to be well behaved and to make good decisions.”
  • “She is an essential member of our team.”
