BATESVILLE – May 20, 2014 – Carla James, Vocational Business Instructor at Batesville High School, was named Monday as the May 2014 recipient of the “Citizens Bank Above & Beyond Award” for the Batesville School District.
Citizens Bank and the district two years ago created the award to recognize school staff members who go “above and beyond” in their service to students, parents, their school, peers and the district. Personnel at all schools nominate recipients of the monthly Above & Beyond award, which includes a certificate from the Board of Education and a $50 gift card from Citizens Bank.
More than a dozen nominations were received for Mrs. James, citing her dedication to other teachers, students and especially the production of the yearbook. Some sample comments:
- “Carla is always willing to go the extra mile to help and will drop everything to help other teachers and students with projects, technology problems, events, etc.”
- “She is the perfect example of a team player.”
- “Carla goes above and beyond to do things that are not in her job description. She worked many hours this year helping with the yearbook on her own time.”
