BATESVILLE – March 13, 2017 – Alisha Branscum, Computer Lab Aide at Sulphur Rock Magnet Elementary School, was named Monday as the March 2017 recipient of the “Citizens Bank Above & Beyond Award” for the Batesville School District. The presentation was made at the School Board meeting held at Sulphur Rock.
The Above & Beyond program, created in 2012 by the bank and the district, recognizes employees for exceptional service to students, parents, their school, peers and the district.
Anyone employed by the Batesville School District may be nominated by their peers for the award. Recipients are selected from the nominations each month and announced at a Batesville School Board meeting. The award includes a certificate from the Board, and a $25 gift card and 20-ounce RTIC tumbler from Citizens Bank.
In addition to her Computer Lab duties at Sulphur Rock, Ms. Branscum helps coach the school’s archery team and also assists with the production of the school’s yearbook. Some of the comments from her award nominations included:
- “Alisha is very dedicated to our archery program at the school. Many of the students in the program only have archery to feel good about themselves. She spends extra time to ensure the kids get the attention they need.”
- “She has a positive attitude and a smile on her face every day.”
- “Alisha is always willing to help. She goes above her regular job duties by helping in any way that is asked of her.”
- “She has a passion not only for her job but for the students at Sulphur Rock!”
