NCA Hot Dog & Hamburger Griller
Summarize what you do in your role.
My role includes maintaining existing relationships and building new relationships within the NCA communities whether it be lending or deposit needs. It also includes giving of my time to help out with and attend various community events.
How/Why did you get into the banking industry?
I got into banking because of the relationships I had built over a 24 year career with Farm Bureau Insurance. Micah and I discussed an additional lender being needed in Batesville to help out in the Agriculture Community. I know many of the farmers in Independence County and thought Citizens Bank would be a good fit.
What is a DRIVER within your role?
Seeing customers succeed in the farming industry or their business endeavors. Seeing our communities grow and knowing Citizens Bank is a part of the success.
What do people assume about your role that isn't true?
I think people assume once the loan is made, the loan officer's role is complete. When actually it's the beginning of a banking relationship.
What would you say to someone who doesn't think a banking career is for them?
I would tell them banking is much more than just money transactions. It's a career that allows you to build relationships throughout your community.
What does Beyond A Banker mean to you?
It means going the extra mile. It means inviting customers to pull up a chair and listening to their needs and ideas. It means being involved in the community and creating relationships based on trust and friendship not just banking needs.
What are you passionate about outside of work?
Being a good husband and dad
When/Where are you happiest?
We have a place on the White River in the little town of Norfork. I'm happiest there with family and friends.
What show(s) are you currently binge-watching?
Not a big TV watcher other than sports. But I have watched every episode of The Incredible Doctor Pol.
Where is your favorite (local) place to eat? What is your go-to order?
Bruno's Pizzeria. The Arkansan Pizza is my favorite.
What special/interesting skill do you have that others might not know about?
I don't know that it is a special skill or interest, but I enjoy manual labor on the farm. Whether it's building fences, bush hogging, or helping work cattle. This kind of work helps me unwind.
What is something that you wish you had known earlier in your career?
The importance of keeping up with changes in technology.
