Summarize what you do in your role: My role includes developing and managing a portfolio of relationships focused on deposits, as well as directly supporting the Northwest Arkansas customers that use our Treasury Management Platform.
How/Why did you get into the banking industry? While finishing up college and not sure of what career path to choose, my dad kept suggesting that I should pursue banking. Eventually, I ended up applying for a position in NWA and have been in love with it ever since. Thanks, Dad!
What is a DRAIN within your role? There really aren’t any drains within my role, but I would say that the excitement I get from helping others can leave me drained at the end of the day!
What is a DRIVER within your role? A driver within my role is getting the opportunity to build relationships by meeting new people and hearing, “their story”, while learning about the numerous industries in our area.
What skill(s) do you use on the job that might surprise people? A skill I use that might surprise people is my ability to maintain a positive attitude in almost any situation. Attitude and effort are the two things that you can always control, and I always try to maintain a high level of both.
What do people assume about your role that isn't true? I think some people assume that I spend the majority of my time out in the public, but I also spend a lot of time in Excel conducting account analyses and calculating product pricing for current and prospective customers.
What would you say to someone who doesn't think a banking career is for them? I would say you’re missing out! The banking industry is full of positions that fit different personality types and skill sets.
What does Beyond A Banker mean to you? Beyond a Banker is about relationship building and always having an open ear when someone needs your help, whether it's banking related or not.
What are you passionate about outside of work? Aside from spending time with my family, I’m most passionate about being outdoors, reading, and whatever sport the Razorbacks are playing.
When/Where are you happiest? I’m happiest when I’m spending time with family, playing basketball, floating the river, or going to concerts with friends.
What show(s) are you currently binge-watching? Any college football game that’s on TV.
Where is your favorite (local) place to eat? What is your go-to order? Wrights BBQ – The Rocketman
What special/interesting skill do you have that others might not know about? I’m really good at identifying rocks/minerals. I collected rocks as a kid and now the hobby has carried over into adulthood as well!
What is something that you wish you had known earlier in your career? Do the things that make you scared and uncomfortable. They only get easier with repetition.
